The Nebraska State Patrol reported that a school bus and tractor trailer collision in southern Nebraska tragically resulted in four fatalities, including two young students. As reported by WISTV.com, the fatal NE traffic accident occurred at a rural intersection in Blue Hill. The 21-year-old male driver of the semi truck, a resident of Blue Hill, and the 59-year-old female bus driver, a Red Cloud resident, died in the collision. In addition, two students of Blue Hill Community Schools also lost their lives in the accident, an 18-year-old young man and a 10-year-old girl.
Five other students aboard the bus were taken to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Two of the children, a seven-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl, were treated and released the same day of the accident. Two others, a 10-year old boy and eight-year-old girl, were admitted to a Hastings hospital and were listed in stable condition. A seven-year-old girl was flown to the Children’s Hospital in Omaha, noted to be in serious condition. Authorities have not yet released details about how the tragic crash occurred. Read the rest »
